Welcome to HyperHacks!

HyperHacks is going to be a fun event. We plan on doing fun activities that people are actually gonna attend. We'll be streaming on twitch and communicating mainly on our hopefully awesome discord server! And finally, we're gonna have some awesome prizes!

*prizes may be subject to change

Eligibility

Participants: You're required to be at least 13 years old and should currently be a student at a secondary (High School) or post-secondary (College/University) level.

Teams: You're welcome to do HyperHacks either as an individual or as a team. But please keep in mind that your team size shouldn't exceed 4 people.

Location: You're welcome to join us on this epic weekend no matter where you are in the world except countries excluded by Devpost (The Standard Exceptions).

Requirements

You're welcome to build whatever piece of technology that you like but please keep a note of the following:

  • Your hack must be open source. We need to check that your hack is built by you and your team. We understand that there might be some limitations when uploading your source code, especially for video games. We recommend using GitHub (don't forget to use .gitignore) but in case that wasn't possible, you're welcome to upload your source to any other file sharing platform such as Google Drive and OneDrive. In case none of the above works out for you, make sure to contact us using the discord server in the channel #ask-questions and we'll make sure to answer your questions very fast. (Also don't forget to add a URL to your source code in your Devpost!)
  • If you haven't read the rules yet, your hacks need to be made during HyperHacks.
  • You're allowed to submit the same project to HyperHacks and other hackathons.
  • We recommend you fill the Devpost to the best of your ability. We would really like to know everything about your project.
  • You need to post a maximum of 5 minutes long demo video for your hack. Make sure you cover as many features as possible in your video since we're not able to test your hacks individually due to time and security reasons.
  • You project must be built during HyperHacks

Judging Criteria

  • Technical Impressiveness
We want to see that your team is very skilled. Try to make the judges think "How did they do this in two days?!"
  • Design
Your project should have a consistent theme and users should be able to figure out what it does and how to use it easily.
  • Idea
We are looking for ideas that can be launched and grown into businesses. Make the judges want to invest in your project.
